When you plan your next tour to Spain, just make a visit to Belorado (Burgos) a city of Castila Leon province. It is certainly the place you would love to visit again and again. The nature has blessed the city with her bountiful beauty and the city is also blessed with some of the historic buildings. Just take a round through the city and you will be convinced how beautiful the city is:

The Cathedral:

Called as the Burgos Cathedral this is considered to be an outstanding example for Spanish Gothic Art. It has taken almost about 450 years to build this cathedral; according to archeologists the cathedral was built during 1221 to 1795. The Castile monarch statue and the rose window are the star attractions of this Cathedral. Apart from this, the exterior of the Cathedral is known for its beautiful works of architecture. The interior is lavishly decorated with many intricate works of sculpture and arts. Actually the Cathedral is declared world heritage by UNESCO. There is also a museum within the Cathedral which has rare collections of some of silver and gold images, many rare collections of paintings and very intricate works of arts and artifacts including works of sculpture etc. Codices and documents of 10th 16th centuries are available in this Cathedral.

Santa Maria Monastery:

This is yet another most fascinating work of architecture. There is a church and the Cistercian nuns reside here. Daily service is held and many of the tourists attend the service prayer. The main door of the Monastery has the Traditional Arab design. The beautiful nave with Choir stall at the centre of the nave is yet another feature of this Monastery.

The Museum:

This is also called as Marceliano Santamaria Art museum and this is yet another place of interest. This museum is dedicated to the works of artists from Belorado (Burgos). Of course, art works from other contemporary artists are also available here. The museum itself is located in a historic building with beautiful structure. The museum is open on all days and the museum receives visitors throughout the year.

The surrounding villages:

The city is surrounded by many villages which depicts different cultures and practices. For example, in Briviesca village the tourists would always make it a point to visit villas espagne. The Castle in the Frias village is another place which receives the highest number of visitors throughout the year.
